Harley's
Paws Park
UPDATES!

Long Island Dog Owners Group (LI-DOG)
is a community organization dedicated to increasing
recreational, social and competitive activities for Long
Island dog owners and their dogs.

We're currently exploring 4 potential sites for
      Harley's Paws Parks -
              Remsenburg/Speonk,
              Westhampton
              Westhampton Beach

Hampton Bays

June 15, 2007 UPDATE!

First I want to thank all of you for the wonderful response to our web site and to the June 7th
article in the Southampton Press!

Below is the newly updated site plan for the Remsenburg/Speonk park. Thank you
DAN AIMETTI
for your patience and talent!!! We'll be receiving a PDF of the site, but I couldn't wait...so I hope
you're all able to make out some of the details...the benches, gazebos, pooper stations, etc.

I'm excited to report that Southampton Town Council member, Steve Kenny, approached us with
2 more potential parks in additional to Remsenburg/Speonk site - one in Westhampton Beach
within walking distance of Main Street (yikes! will the village go for it?), the other in Hampton
Bays. Of course, we have to go through the approval process...but this is great news!!!

Thank you, too, for all of your offers of assistance! Our primary need is funding! Yes! The Town
of Southampton is giving us use of the land...OUR ROLE IS TO BUILD AND MAINTAIN! Fencing
alone can cost $20,000 depending upon the size of the property... SO! If you haven't already
GIVEN...we need your donations! You can use the web site or send a check to the address
below.

One of our group, LOIS VERLEN, is a TRAINER (and wonderful person!) and is offering a
fantastic opportunity for you and your best friend!!! Your $100 donation to Harley's Paws Park
will give you a FREE hour session with Lois! Thank you LOIS and Thank you Marlene for
responding so quickly!!!

Harley and I look forward to meeting you!!! We work at Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate at
104 Main Street in Westhampton Beach, and are in the office pretty much every day (except
Weds - call to be sure...Harley schedule for showing homes gets pretty filled). He's is celebrating
his first Birthday on the 23rd! SO! Come say HELLO!

All of us at Harley's Paws Park wish you all a Happy Fathers Day!

Donations are gratefully accepted at
One Stop Pet Shops in Westhampton Beach
and Southampton.

For all you pet needs, food and accessories
 as well as great advice!

It took a little while... it's summer after all...
August 2, 2007

7-27-07 Harley's Paws Park received approval as a designated 501-c-3 nonprofit organization!

7-31-07 Met with Councilman Steve Kenny and Chris Russell regarding the Hampton Bays site which is proposed
for an acre behind the animal shelter at Red Creek Park. We have the support of the Town of Southampton to
begin the process of creating site plans and holding discussions with the planning departments.

Westhampton Beach - the Town is purchasing a half acre within the village. It is hoped that we can get enough
support from our friends and neighbors to urge the village to approve the parcel for a dog park. So if you have
  influence...know anyone who has influence...HELP!!!

Remsenburg/Speonk - We're still positive on this site! It's going to take awhile before the Town acquires the
property and we go through the approval and community education processes.

Plans are moving forward for our fundraiser, Sat October 13, 6-9 at Dockers. We need raffle gifts so please help us
acquire merchandise... We'd like to get atleast 100 gifts and door prizes!!!

  - And as always, we need your financial support!

Thank you for any help you can give us!

August 30, 2007 -   Harley's Paws Park  is picking up momentum!

We were invited to meet with Southampton Town's Management Services Administrator, Richard
Blowes on Tuesday, August 21st to discuss plans for the
Hampton Bays park to be located in
Red Creek Park. Judy McCleery, Grants Analyst, is working up a site plan which we hope to have
the opportunity to present at the September 28th Town Board Work Session.

Plan on attending our Kick-Off Fundraiser on Saturday, October 13th!!! It promises to be
great fun!...a great party!...for a great cause!!! If you're unable to attend, please send us a donation
or purchase a package of raffle tickets. We've got some fabulous gifts!
We need your support to
 build and maintain our parks.

GET INVOLVED! We need volunteers to serve on our fundraiser welcoming committee and sell raffle
tickets on the evening of the event.

We're looking for raffle gifts and sponsorships!  Harley's Paws Park is a 501-c-3 nonprofit
organization so your gift is 100% tax deductible!

Finally! HARLEY begins his community service work today (August 30th) as a Therapy Dog for
 Westhampton Care!!!

      October 25th 2007 - We're making amazing progress!!!

A dazzling fall sunset over the bay was the spectacular backdrop for our Harley's Paws Park's
kick-off fundraiser. The October 13th event at Dockers Waterside in East Quogue was a great
success! The weather was beautiful, the food sumptuous, and the great sound of the Dave
Tyler band kept everybody dancing all night! Wine and beer was sponsored by Coldwell
      Banker Prestigious Properties.

A dog park plan review for the Hampton Bays site was held at the Town on Friday, October 19th.
In attendance was Judith McCleery, Richard Blowes, Christine Russell, Steven Kenny,
architect/designer Tim Rumph, Arthur and I. A second meeting is scheduled for tomorrow,
October 26th to fine tune the site plan that will be presented at a Town Council Work Session on
November 2nd. Check out the Hampton Bays site plan proposal at www.Harley’sPawsPark.org .
You’ll be delighted to learn that we’re including a separately fenced water feature!!!

RE: the Glover’s Lane site in WHB – we’re awaiting a management agreement to be created
between the Town and the Village before we can proceed with a proposal.

THANK YOU! For supporting our adventure/s! We hope you will continue to assist our ongoing efforts!!!
